Release Day! Release Day! CAPTURE ME Release Day!

Hello Precious Readers!

Yes, you get an exclamation mark, not a comma. That’s how excited I am! Today is the RELEASE DAY for my first book CAPTURE ME: A Roxy Summers Mystery!

Fake Therapist Voice: Now how does that make me feel?
Me: ExcitedHappyJoyfulGiddyInAweIncredibleAndAWeeBitNervous
Fake Therapist Voice: That’s not one emotion
Me: If you had one moment to be in my head, you’d know that those are ALL ONE EMOTION.

Yes, Precious Readers, this also means you can get it in PRINT! E-BOOK AND PRINT!

I don’t know if it’s normal to have your release day the same as the beginning of a writer’s conference, but that’s what I have. I’m literally in the middle of finalizing my packing for the Emerald City Writer’s Conference. But, I took a pause from packing to make sure we stayed connected. Yes, you and me, Precious Readers!

PURCHASE TODAY IN PRINT AND E-BOOK!

I love this conference so much! The writers are a supportive bunch, we laugh, we drink, we advise, and learn. Let’s just say the phrase, “Work Hard, Play Harder” has never applied so much as it does in this moment.

On top of that, there’s the FREE BOOK READER APPRECIATION EVENT tomorrow night, Saturday, October 15th! A PUBLIC AND FREE EVENT to meet 60 authors all giving away FREE PRINT copies of their book! This includes ME! I’ll be there giving away 25 copies of my book.

The Westin Bellevue, October 15th from 6 PM-8 PM
Be there, or be without chocolate.

They call it a Booktail party. I’m so excited to be a part of this event as a presenter instead of an attendee. This also means social interaction, but it’s forcing me to undergo social interaction for good reasons. I will be there with a nervous and excited smile on! I’ll also have goodies at my space (chocolate) and giving away 3 e-book copies of CAPTURE ME.

I hope to see you there!

Fair warning, the weather is going to be massively, irritatingly shitty this weekend. No sugarcoating it. Tons of rain, humidity, and high winds. GOOD NEWS! The Westin Bellevue is in the heart of downtown Bellevue and has many, many covered parking lots. One parking lot is directly underneath the hotel itself!

I’m excited to learn, reconnect with other writers, meet new writers, and meet some of my publishing team face-to-face… and maybe some fans?

See you later!

FREE BOOKS – Passport to Romance – Emerald City Writer’s Conference 2015

Greetings Precious Readers!

Today is FRIDAY and I’m loving every minute of it! This week, I made homemade marinara meat sauce (check it out on my Instagram) and have made pasta twice this week-not only because it’s cheap, but because Pilot loves pasta! He’d eat it every day if he could! I swear, Pilot has to be part Italian somewhere in all of that German DNA.

We added a new addition to the family, Lou! He’s a black chihuahua and the fourth member of the Bacher clan. Nimitz is loving being a big brother. After two weeks of having Lou in our family, Nimitz can lay next to Lou without freaking out!

Since it’s Friday, it means it’s almost my favorite day… Saturday! It’s my favorite because you can stay up late with no consequences of being late for any appointments the next day.

Speaking of Saturdays-

Do you like my segue? Huh?

-tomorrow is Passport to Romance: Free Reader Appreciation Event*, during the weekend of Emerald City Writer’s Conference 2015. Due to financial strains, I wasn’t able to attend this year, but their book fair is FREE and they’re giving away books for FREE. Did I happen to mention, FREE BOOKS?

It will be located at the The Westin in Bellevue, WA, and I’ll be there among the crowd. See if you can find me! Authors will be giving away FREE books written by their hands. It’s an amazing and warm group of people. How often do you get to meet the author in person and chat with them? I’m sure I’ll be a babbling, nervous wreck as usual.

Hope to see you there! I’ll post pics on Instagram as I go along, so those of you who are far away can be virtually there with me!

*Passport to Romance: Free Reader Appreciation Event is sponsored by Emerald City Writer’s Conference, Greater Seattle Romance Writers of America, Saranna DeWylde, Gerri Russell: Historical & Contemporary Romance, Lori Lyn, Elizabeth Hoyt, Jami DavenportNight Owl Reviews, Margaret Mallory, and last, but certainly not least as she’s one of my favorites, Sabrina York: Her Royal Hotness!

looking for a good book / Waterfront Book Festival in Everett, Washington

“A book is a gift you can open again and again.”
– Garrison Keillor

Hello Precious Readers!

That’s right! 2 Posts in 1 week! Who knew it was possible? I’m writing this special blog post in honor of the Evergreen branch of the Romance Writers of America‘s Waterfront Book Festival (RWA), held yesterday in Everett, Washington!

Pilot, my friend Caring*, and I headed up to the Everett Marina in The Cranberry** yesterday afternoon. Spending a good 45 minutes first at The Everett Farmers Market browsing the various vendors vending their volume vestige.

Yeah! How do you like that alliteration? Vindicated! (Mwahaha!)

Although we didn’t purchase anything here, it was fun to check out the stands.

Admittedly, there were a few items I wanted to buy, but I had limited funds put aside specifically for the book festival.

After perusing, we entered Lombardi’s, an Everett Italian restaurant, right there on the marina, and then just outside the restaurant, down the line of the group of vendors. Lombardi’s was kind enough to host the authors in case of inclement weather. After a dry summer, we ended up with torrential rain and blustery winds causing several power outages in Western Washington State. Even now, in the afternoon, I’m still reading posts on Facebook about people still without power on Day 3. I got to see some of my favorite local authors again (Wendy Delaney and Lori Lyn) from the Greater Seattle RWA’s annual Emerald City Writer’s Conference back in October 2014. I also got to meet some of my favorite authors for the first time, and got to meet authors I hadn’t heard of yet for the first time! I also ended up with a huge haul of freebies.

Which is never bad. Am I right?

I’m lamenting the lack of photos, but I was waaay too nervous to think of taking more pictures.

I purchased a couple of books for my friend Caring and I, and then our little group skedaddled out of there.

Should you get the opportunity to go to any book fairs, sales, etc. I always recommend going. Especially if the authors themselves are in attendance! Even though I was nervous, it never ceases to amaze me how warm and inviting the authors are! They’re people, just like you and me, other than the fact they’ve been published – sometimes several times over! I’m always grateful when they deal with a bundle of nerves like myself and still treat me normally.

It’s greatly appreciated to be treated normally when one clearly is not.

Here are some photos from the event!

I’m holding a bunch of free stuff from Jacquie and Wendy Delaney (not pictured). Wendy made those earrings! They’re exact replicas of the cover of one of her books!

Word of warning, her books are not for the faint of heart! They’re high-octane romance.

…aaaaand that may just be a giant Star Trek mug off to the right.
